Cancer Day Observed by CSK with Free Cancer Awareness and Care Camp
Srinagar, February 4, 2026:
On the eve of World Cancer Day, the Cancer Society of Kashmir (CSK) today organized a comprehensive
Cancer Awareness Day on 4th February 2026, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to cancer care and
prevention in the region. Observance of World Cancer Day has been a consistent and integral activity of CSK for
decades, aimed at spreading awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting patients battling cancer.
As part of today’s program, CSK organized a free cancer consultation camp, where patients were examined
and counselled by experienced oncologists and healthcare professionals. In addition, free anticancer drugs were
provided to deserving patients, along with free blood investigations wherever clinically indicated, ensuring that
financial constraints do not become a barrier to essential cancer care.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of CSK emphasized that early detection, timely treatment, and
awareness remain the strongest tools in the fight against cancer. The organization highlighted that a significant
proportion of cancers can be prevented or successfully treated if diagnosed at an early stage through appropriate
screening and lifestyle modifications.
Beyond this annual observance, CSK continues to play a pivotal role throughout the year by:
1. Providing free cancer consultations to patients from economically weaker sections
2. Supplying free anticancer medicines to needy patients on a regular basis
3. Facilitating free diagnostic tests, including blood tests and other essential investigations, whenever required
4. Conducting routine cancer awareness programs focused on prevention, early warning signs, screening methods,
and advances in cancer treatment
5. Educating the public about tobacco cessation, healthy lifestyle practices, vaccination, and cancer screening
protocols
CSK has been at the forefront of cancer advocacy in Kashmir, working tirelessly to reduce the burden of
the disease through community outreach, patient support, and awareness campaigns. The organization reiterated
its resolve to continue serving cancer patients with compassion, dignity, and scientific excellence.
On World Cancer Day, CSK appealed to the public to seek timely medical advice, participate in screening
programs, and support initiatives aimed at combating cancer. The day served as a reminder that “Cancer is not
just a medical challenge, but a social one that requires collective action.
